Q3 2016 was a mediocre quarter for Epsilon Eight in terms of revenue but we were able to do work with some really amazing people.

We wrapped up the consulting gig in Mountain View, CA and started work on a fun project with our friends over at Cylinder. Adarsh (founder of Cylinder) and I co-host the Failcast podcast and we’ve been looking for ways to work on a project together. The project we got to work on was a lead generating micro-application for a prominent HR software company.

The Mountain View client was quite happy with us and we hope to work with them again down the road. Lessons learned? Check in with your client often. We were able hone in on our client’s needs on a week by week basis. The check-ins improved visibility into our effectiveness and allow the client to give feedback where necessary.

Monthly Revenue: $13,650

We continued work on the HR micro-application and really hit a stride. Design fell into place nicely. Development moved quickly. And the client was very happy we were moving so quickly. A family vacation meant all heads were down as we tried to complete this project by the end of the September.

Monthly Revenue: $6,542

We wrapped up the HR micro-application at the end of the month and I’m happy to report that our client was very pleased with the project. They loved that we completed the project ahead of schedule, under budget, and didn’t have to sacrifice quality to do so. Kudos to our client for being flexible around features and fit/finish in the vain of producing a lean product to test a new market in a timely fashion.

Monthly Revenue: $26,247

Q3 2016 was good for us but not stellar like last quarter. We got to work with some amazing people but with y head down in implementation I didn’t do the best job managing our pipeline. Returning from vacation we had very little work lined up. If we really want to take things to the next level we need to focus on improving deal flow. This will mean devoting more time to content marketing, relationship building, and attending and speaking at local events.
